The birth cocoon soothes and encourages baby to fall back asleep; it can even be used in summer thanks to the thermoregulatory properties of merino wool. Cocoon, slippers and adjustable hat pattern:

Patterns made by Agathe, early childhood professional, tested and approved by many knitters.

The cocoon is preferably knitted with 6mm circular needles, whereas the slippers and the hat are worked using 4.5mm needles.

When baby grows up:

To lengthen your cocoon when baby is 5 months old, we suggest you order an additional ball (“I lengthen my cocoon” option), all you need to do is unravel the bottom of the cocoon and work using the twe ends of the new ball.

The Ma Petite Laine birth cocoon allows baby to return to his favorite position, the one he had in his mother's womb, and gives him a feeling of permanent contact. This position also facilitates digestion and reduces colic. Usable from birth, it grows with baby until he is approximately 6 months old. Merino wool, suitable for the most fragile skin, does not itch. Newborns often have difficulty regulating their temperature, merino wool allows thermoregulation, the cocoon can be used in winter and summer.

Recommendation for safe sleep : The cocoon replaces the sleeping bag and can be used while sleeping.

It is smaller than the baby and its rolled edge is naturally positioned at the level of the baby's elbows.

Its water-repellent properties allow you to occasionally machine wash the small knits, using the wool cycle, 30°C max, 400 rpm. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat.

On a daily basis, wipe them with a clean cloth when stained.
